How intelligently networked alarm and video technology permanently solved a persistent problem for a railway company.
Initial situation
Facilities and outdoor areas of a railway company were repeatedly targeted by graffiti sprayers – resulting in high cleaning and repair costs. The perpetrators usually remained unidentified.
The challenge
Extensive areas, perpetrators active at night and no possibility of permanent on-site guarding: classic protective measures alone did not achieve a lasting effect.
The solution
Planning and installation of an outdoor alarm system with video verification, connected to a 24/7 staffed emergency and service control room. As soon as a movement is detected, the video technology immediately verifies the cause – and the control room can address suspects directly via loudspeaker. The system can be deployed anywhere – regardless of whether power or internet is available on site.
The result
Fast response times and the direct address work from day one: the perpetrators were driven away – and word of this spread in the graffiti scene. Since the system was commissioned, there has not been a single further graffiti incident.
